The Australian PGA Championship is Australia’s premier golf event, sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour and has a long history dating back to 1905 when the tournament was first held at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Over the years, the tournament has evolved from match-play to its current 72-hole stroke-play format.
The Australian PGA Championships has seen its fair share of superstar golfers lift the Joe Kirkwood Cup; including Adam Scott who won in 2013 and 2019 and Cameron Smith, who won back-to-back in 2017 and 2018 with Marc Leishman finishing 2 strokes behind in the 2018 edition at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.
This year’s event will be one for the ages after COVID-19 disrupted much of the golfing year with the US Masters postponed, The 149th Open cancelled and most golf events disrupted in some way. With international travel an unlikely possibility by December, all eyes will be on Royal Queensland for fans from Australia and New Zealand.
It’s time to scratch your golfing itch and come with Events Travel to enjoy this year’s event with an official Australian PGA Championship Package; including tickets, hospitality, accommodation, transport, sightseeing, flights and more.
