The Australian PGA Championship has been held for the last 21 years in south east Queensland. This year it’s returning to Royal Queensland Golf Club, for the first time since 2001, to coincide with the clubs 100 year centenary celebrations. 2019 Australian PGA Championship winner, Adam Scott, will look to defend his title at the club where he is a member; along with Greg Norman and Charlie Earp amongst other Aussie golfing royalty.Read moreRead less
The Australian PGA Championship is Australia’s premier golf event, sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour and has a long history dating back to 1905 when the tournament was first held at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Over the years, the tournament has evolved from match-play to its current 72-hole stroke-play format.
The Australian PGA Championships has seen its fair share of superstar golfers lift the Joe Kirkwood Cup; including Adam Scott who won in 2013 and 2019 and Cameron Smith, who won back-to-back in 2017 and 2018 with Marc Leishman finishing 2 strokes behind in the 2018 edition at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.
This year’s event will be one for the ages after COVID-19 disrupted much of the golfing year with the US Masters postponed, The 149th Open cancelled and most golf events disrupted in some way. With international travel an unlikely possibility by December, all eyes will be on Royal Queensland for fans from Australia and New Zealand.
It’s time to scratch your golfing itch and come with Events Travel to enjoy this year’s event with an official Australian PGA Championship Package; including tickets, hospitality, accommodation, transport, sightseeing, flights and more.

What’s on offer from Events Travel?
Brisbane is home to subtropical beaches, wild National Parks, sophisticated restaurants, daring galleries and a thriving bar and cultural scene. The city is positioned inland along the banks of the Brisbane River with Moreton Bay to the east; home to whales, turtles and dolphins. Head southeast and you’ll find ‘Straddie’, or more officially Stradbroke Island, where you can get away from the city on a four-wheel driving adventure with fishing, swimming, hiking and beautiful scenery at every turn. Further to the south is the Gold Coast, an iconic destination built on the dunes with theme parks, resorts, shops and fantastic golf available to occupy you for a few days after the Australian PGA Championships.
December is the first month of summer in Australia. Across the country, weather is warm with sunshine expected as well as a chance of rain in Brisbane on at least one day of the tournament. For the Australian PGA Championship, the weather will be humid and warm, pleasant for walking the course and spectating. Trips to the beach and swimming in the ocean and pools a good option to cool off after a day of watching some of the best golfers on the planet. High’s are on average 29°C and lows 21°C.
