You’re invited to the tropical islands of Fiji for a fun and friendly golf event in August, 2022. Take a break and enjoy ‘island life’, where time passes slowly and calmly. You’ve earned it.

What is Fiji Golf Week?

It’s a friendly golf tournament in a tropical atmosphere, open to golfers of all abilities with daily prizes (really it’s a great excuse for a holiday and to play golf with like-minded people.)

Bula Vinaka,

Welcome to Fiji Golf Week 2022, a friendly golf competition and opportunity to unwind, relax and enjoy ‘island life’—where time slows, the water is warm and palm trees sway in the gentle sea breeze.

It’s all happening from 27 August to 3 September, 2022.  Fiji’s two best golf courses will host a four round tournament, where golfers of all abilities will play stableford in a friendly and fun competition. Non-golfers are welcome too and there’s plenty of activities on offer. With daily prizes for individuals, teams and aggregate winners, you will enjoy the friendly camaraderie and a chance to test your skills against friends, family and other golfers from around the world. Come the final day of play, there will be one Fiji Golf Week Champion who will win a return trip for two to defend their title at FGW 2023 including flights. To make things even more interesting, there will be daily nearest-the-pin prizes and an incredible hole-in-one prize: a trip for two to The 151st Open Championship in 2023 at Royal Liverpool!

Most commonly asked questions about Fiji Golf Week. If you have a question not answered, speak to a Travel Consultant today.

I don’t have a formal handicap, can I still play?

You are welcome to play and have fun as part of FGW, but you will be ineligible for prizes and placings. Stableford is a popular scoring format which allows golfers to be competitive with his/her own merits and works off handicaps.

How does the draw work?

Golf operations is managed by Voyages.Golf and will be randomised with the contingency for members of a travelling party to play together. Note that last-minute bookings and odd numbered groups may be spread over multiple playing groups and start times. Each shotgun start will consist of four players, with two shared motorised carts. There will be a starter on both courses ensuring play gets off on time. AM and PM start times are to be confirmed. The draw will be provided at golf registration on arrival in Fiji.

I want to play with my friends only, how are groups arranged?

Please see the previous answer.

What will the weather be like?

Typically in Aug/Sep, the weather is mild, dry and comfortable. The water clarity is at it’s best and a light wind flows from east to west (offshore and ideal). The Fiji International was previously held each year in August. Guests will enjoy the moderate temperature, low chance of rain and great snorkelling conditions.

Can I extend my stay in Fiji with you?

Absolutely, we can arrange extra nights in Denarau or other accommodation options in Fiji and surrounding islands. See our Momi Bay Extension as a luxurious option to extend your trip in style.

I want to use frequent flyer points for my flights, how does that work?

To use frequent flyer points, you’ll need to opt out of the included group flights and benefits and purchase a fare with your frequent flyer program. Our Travel Consultants can assist with this.

When should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure your group has the best chance of playing together within the draw and to ensure availability of your preferred rooms and activities. This event does have a capacity limit and will likely sell out.

If COVID-19 is still around in 2022, what is the refund procedure?

Our COVID-19 guarantees are designed to ensure you travel with confidence. If COVID-19 travel restrictions affect your trip, you will be able to postpone to the following years event or cancel and refund a full refund less a $125 per person processing fee. Learn more.

I want to explore the national parks, can I hire a car and drive around?

Absolutely, we can arrange car hire in advance or you can book a car on arrival or during your trip, although hiring in advance is the best value option. Driving in Fiji is safe.

I don’t want to play golf, but can I watch my partner?

Non-golfers are welcome to accompany their partners to the golf course if the playing group permits, however non-golfers may need to hire a motorised cart at an additional cost, subject to availability. We have allocated two carts per four players, so if there are five people in the group (one non-golfer), then an additional cart may be required to be paid for by the non-golfer. The same applies to transport, non-golfers can accompany golfers if there is space on the transfer coaches, but this is something we cannot guarantee and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis for available extra seats. Please be assured that we will try to accommodate non-golfers to attend on golf days, but it may not be possible and that we need to ensure the comfort and convenience of all golfers. Non-golfers may be required to walk if there are no carts available.

Is travelling to Fiji safe?

Fiji in general is a very safe and welcoming country. Locals will always greet visitors with a smile and a ‘Bula’. In particular, it’s very safe around Denarau Island and all hotel rooms include safes to lock-up your valuables, something we recommend doing in every country. Tourism is Fiji’s biggest economic driver and as such, tourists are widely welcomed across the country. In addition, Fiji (at the time of writing in June 2021) is largely COVID-19 free.

My partner is yet to decide, can I add them to my booking later?

Absolutely, we can add additional guests to existing bookings, but please note that changing room types is subject to availability at the time of change.

Is there a dress code?

Golfers must wear collared shirts (no singlets, except for women) and golf shoes (no open toed shoes e.g. thongs, sandals etc.) The Farewell Dinner and Presentation has a smart casual dress code. Otherwise resort wear is welcome across the country. White table-clothed restaurants may require trousers and shoes, come prepared for that.

What are the early bird offers?

Early bird offers have sold out. We do still have a special offer for groups.

I’m travelling from Perth, how do the flights work for me?

Group Flights are not offered from Perth. If you’re flying from Perth, speak to our Travel Consultants about the best flight options for you.

Is club hire available?

Club hire is available, yet limited and best organised well in advance. We don’t recommend hiring clubs on the day due to potential availability issues. With our Group Flights, we have included one complimentary golf bag per person in addition to one 30kg check-in bag per person and regular cabin hand luggage.

Can I bring my own clubs?

Please see the previous answer.

Can I bring my kids?

Absolutely. Fiji is a diverse destination that caters to couples, families and groups, with different accommodation options to suit varying needs. If you’re travelling with young kids, the resorts offer complimentary kids clubs and a variety of activities. Young golfers are welcome, but they still need a handicap to qualify for prizes and placings.

I’m not from Australia or New Zealand, can I attend FGW?

Absolutely. Fiji Golf Week is inclusive of attendees and travellers from around the world, including USA, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and other locations. Our Travel Consultants can quote prices in your currency, to be converted to AUD at the time of payment at your bank or credit card providers prevailing exchange rate.

I can only stay for 5-nights, can I reduce the package?

Unfortunately the FGW package is fixed at 7-nights, and a reduction in price is not possible. If you can only stay for 5-nights, the two unused nights and services will not be refunded.

We look forward to welcoming you to Fiji for FGW 2021. After a challenging 2020, you’ve earned it. Here are the payment terms and more information about securing your place.

Payment terms

Full payment is now required to confirm.

All quoted foreign currencies will be converted to AUD at the time of invoicing.

All bookings are covered by the Events Travel General Booking Terms and Conditions.

If you cancel: our standard terms and conditions apply, which is that you forfeit all payments made.
If we cancel (due to COVID-19): you will receive a refund less a booking fee of AU$125 per person, or you can transfer to the following years event without penalty if this option is available.
If we cancel (due to minimum event numbers not met): you will receive a full refund on the package price. Note this does not cover additional expenses you have incurred outside of the FGW product, such as your own flights or supplementary accommodation and services. Note that if this scenario occurs, you will be notified well in advance.
Loloma Home & Care Centre

Loloma means ‘love’ in Fijian. The centre was started in 2009 by two women and is a home where women of all ages, who have suffered abuse and other hardship, can seek refuge and safety. The home and carers provide shelter, food and essentials to women and children in need. As part of Fiji Golf Weeks mission for a positive impact, FJD$100 per person will be donated to Loloma Home. It takes just over FJD$150 to feed the home per month, making our contribution extremely valuable, particularly after the countries primary industry, tourism, was decimated by the global pandemic.
