Four unique race days combine to create a week long festival with fun for the entire family and themes that make the experience on each race day unique and exciting. AAMI Victoria Derby Day, Saturday 31 October 2020
One of the most prestigious days of racing with nine Group races, four at the elite Group 1 level including AAMI Victoria Derby, Australia’s premier staying classic for three-year olds. The fashion stakes are equally high with the commencement of the Myer Fashions on the Field competition. This is the day for classic elegance, which sets the tone of the week. Women typically opt for black and white, while men wear a grey morning suit and pin-stripe pants.
Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 3 November 2020
The focal point of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, there’s nothing quite like being there as over 100,000 fans erupt as the race unfolds. The excitement slowly builds to its 3pm fever pitch when everything at the track comes to a stop for 200 heart-pounding seconds. Each year, a new chapter is written, a new legend is made and a new dream comes true in the quest to win Australia’s most famous sporting trophy.
Kennedy Oaks Day, Thursday 5 November 2020
Known as the style day of the Carnival and commonly called ‘Ladies Day’, women of all ages come together dressed in their most feminine ensemble. The winner of the Myer Fashions on the Field is announced, reinforcing its importance on the fashion calendar. The racing highlight is the Group 1 Kennedy Oaks, the classic for three-year old fillies over 2500m.
VRC Seppelt Stakes Day, Saturday 7 November 2020
The Melbourne Cup Carnival concludes with Seppelt Wines Stakes Day, featuring Victoria’s premier 1600m event, the Group 1 Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes. Seppelt Wines Stakes Day is the fastest growing race day for the four day Carnival with crowds topping 80,000 in recent years. It is also recognised as the Carnival’s family day, with the focus on family fun and an abundance of free activities available for children.

Grandstands and Hospitality
Lawn Stand Located opposite the Winning Post, the Lawn Stand offers great views of the racecourse and city skyline at an affordable price-point. This stand is uncovered.
Saintly Place This indoor stand is air- conditioned and behind glass, protected from the weather. A sophisticated option. Patrons of Saintly Place may need to stand to view races.
Hill Stand This covered Grandstand is opposite the Winning Post and offers a good vantage point to see the racing with betting facilities close by. Front and sides of this stand are subject to weather conditions.
Precinct This pay as you go facility is positioned at the 400 meter mark on the Flemington straight, you’re right amongst the racing action. With exclusive access to betting facilities, food trucks, restaurant pop-ups, bars and entertainment.
Home Straight Enclosure Located in the middle of the track, enjoy canapes, a plated lunch, afternoon tea and beverages with great views across the track to the stands. A transfer option is available for this package including track transfers from the Crown Complex directly to inside the track, where it’s a short walk to the enclosure.
The Parade Lounge Located next to the Parade Ring,

We accept bank transfers, credit card payments and cheques. Bank transfers for Australian
bank accounts to our Australian bank account has no fees. For international bank transfers a small A$20 fee applies. Credit card payments have merchant fees: Visa and Mastercard are both 1.5% and Amex is 1.98%.

What to Expect

At this time, we recommend adding extra nights, ticket upgrades and extra travel services to access best rates and availability.

After making a booking, you will receive a Booking Confirmation and invoice with payment instructions. Once payment is made, your booking is secure.

Two weeks before the event begins, we will send you a Travel Documents email, which contains information about your booking, services and personalised information. If you require physical items (e.g. tickets, merchandise etc.), these will be sent by post at this time.
If you depart from your postal address earlier than two weeks before the event begins, please let us know, as we’ll need to arrange alternative delivery of your physical items. We may deliver your physical items to your hotel for collection on check-in or make them available via a collection point.

What ticket types are available?

In all packages we include General Admission Tickets. These can be upgraded to Grandstands or to Hospitality Packages.

Can I purchase tickets by themselves?

As an Official Tourism Operator for the VRC, our duty is to help fans travel to the event by providing travel packages, inclusive of hotels and other travel services. We don’t sell tickets individually. We may be able to sell you a Hospitality Package by itself if you live locally. For visitors, you need somewhere to stay, so why not try our great value travel packages.

Can my Travel Agent book with you?

Absolutely. We work with registered Travel Agents around the world. You are welcome to refer your Travel Agent to book on your behalf.

Can I choose a different hotel?

Yes, we can provide accommodation anywhere throughout your trip, including during the event in Melbourne. We can provide our recommendations or if you have a particular property in mind, let us know and we’ll book that hotel for you (subject to availability).

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, we recommend travel insurance for every trip, big or small. That’s why we have partnered with CHI to offer travel insurance and have included a 15% off base policy discount for Australian residents. Our Travel Experts are here to help choose the right policy for you. We recommend issuing a policy at the time or travel, or make payment for your trip using a credit card that has travel insurance included, double check that with your credit card provider.

Can I change my Melbourne Cup Package after booking?

Changes are typically not possible after confirming your Melbourne Cup Package, however we do assess changes on a case by case basis depending on what is involved. Upgrades and extra nights or additions to a package are generally possible, subject to availability. We recommend adding extra nights and upgrades at the time of booking to ensure availability.

What’s the difference between a Package and a Tour?

Packages are designed for independent travellers and are not escorted day-to-day by Events Travel staff. With a package, you’re travelling on your own, but you may see Events Travel staff at formal events, transfers or ticket collection points if applicable.

With a Tour, it’s the opposite and you will be escorted throughout your trip by a Tour Manager(s). Tour Managers are there to make sure the trip runs smoothly and to point you in the right direction. All our Tours are designed for small-groups and balance event experiences, destinations and are often themed, for example, golf, gourmet or nature. Tours are a great option to travel with like- minded people.

Can you book my flights?

Yes. We are an accredited IATA Agency and ticket your flights in-house, giving you access to the best available fares .
