And you can be there, live in the Middle East watching the excitement as Doha is transformed into the sporting capital of the world. Here’s what the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had to say:

“Staging the 2022 World Cup in our country is a really important event in the history of Qatar. I remember that when our country was awarded the right to host the World Cup, it was a huge celebration for the whole Arabic world. I invite all of our friends to come as guests. We really hope our national team will repeat the success of Russia and maybe even go further. We will try to at the very least!”

Russia in 2018 was France’s time to shine and their second World Cup win. What made it sweeter was 19 year-old Kylian Mbappe’s success in becoming only the second teenager in history to score in a World Cup Final; following only Pele who was 17 in 1958. There were many defining moments of Russia 2018; Belgium had their best world cup result with third, reigning champions Germany bowed out early, Harry Kane scored an impressive six goals and there were a record 12 own goals, twice the previous record set in 1998.

With the success of Russia 2018, Qatar has a lot riding on its shoulders and they will certainly put on a show. Qatar has developed 8 stadiums to host matches, all of which are within the Doha area. The longest distance between stadiums is just 55km. Doha is a mesmerising city, combining ancient traditions with modern buildings that rise out of the dunes. Qatar is a rich cultural destination that’s exciting and unique. Learn about falconry, watch camels race, admire traditional sailing vessels, gaze at the modern skyline or get that adrenalin rush dune bashing in a 4×4. There’s something for everyone in Qatar.

Our FIFA World Cup packages will include tickets and official hospitality combined with accommodation, flights, transport, sightseeing and other travel services. Our team is currently working on Packages for the event. To be the notified about package release and to be first in line, we recommend signing up for Priority Access.

Events Travel’s COVID-19 Global Pandemic Statement

Dear Customers,

In these extraordinary times, we hope you are staying safe and well.

We are optimistic about travel opening up domestically in the next few months within Australia and travel to New Zealand permitted in September. After this, we expect travel to open within the Asia-Pacific region and globally by early 2021.

As such, our full range of packages, tours and services are now on sale for events taking place after 8 October 2020. In addition, events taking place in 2021 and 2022 are now on sale (such as The 150th Open Championship).

All events are pending Government travel restrictions, as well as general health and safety notices published by DFAT Smartraveller. If an event is cancelled, postponed or spectator free due to COVID-19, customers can choose to use their booking payments as credit to the rescheduled event or receive a full refund less a booking fee. This booking fee varies by event. Full details are available within our Booking Terms and Conditions.

We hope that this new policy provides you with reassurance and confidence when booking your sports travel experience with Events Travel.

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact any of our team, who look forward to speaking with you soon.

Stay safe and well,
