For the first time in the competition’s history, UEFA Euro 2021 is being held across multiple countries in Europe. Host countries include Germany, Italy, Russia, Netherlands, Romania and many more. The history-making decision to have the tournament played in 12 European countries was to unify the nations and bring football closer to its fans!
Read moreRead lessFrom 55 national teams who entered the European Qualifiers, only the top 24 teams will play in the Euro 2021 tournament. The competition starts with six groups, with the top two in each group progressing to the next stage and the fourth-placed team eliminated from the tournament. The four highest-ranking teams who placed third will also make it through to the next round. The next round is a knockout round — only winners will continue competing.
Host nation teams will play their three-stage matches at home, and the semi-finals and final will be held for the second time in Euro history at Wembley Stadium in London, as it has the largest capacity of all stadiums in the competition.
