Held on the impressive Mount Panorama Circuit, Bathurst 1000 has a special place in the heart of most Australians who grew up watching heroic drivers tackle the mountain on a Sunday afternoon each October. Mount Panorama Circuit

Originally constructed in 1938 as a scenic tourist drive, Mount Panorama has hosted all types of motorsport including the world-famous Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, the annual 12 Hour GT race, 24 Hour endurance races and the Easter motorcycle meetings.

The circuit is a public road throughout the year although not accessible around the Bathurst 1000 weekend. The circuit has also hosted the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in the past. It remains one of the all-time favourite circuits for Supercars drivers and is ranked among the great race tracks of the world.

Your Host:

Bathurst is the oldest inland settlement in Australia, located 200 km northwest of Sydney. Though the town has a rich Aboriginal history, it was officially declared a townsite in 1815. Its popularity and growth is thanks to the discovery of gold in Australia in the mid-1800s, and its central location meant it was used as a gateway for exploration and development of the New South Wales region. Now, the region is a large producer of agriculture including vegetables, honey, fruits, forestry, and grapes. Enjoy discovering this historically rich town dating back 40,000 years when it was once Aboriginal land through to the settlement and colonial growth that makes it the town it is today; lined with heritage-listed buildings and colonial mansions.

Bathurst has a temperate climate, and sits 650 metres above sea level which means average rainfall is higher in this region. In October, you can expect highs of 22C and lows of 8C. Pack a rain jacket and warm layers to ensure race-day comfort.

We accept payments by bank transfer (EFT), credit cards and cheque. Domestic bank transfers and cheques have no fees. International bank transfers (e.g. from an international bank to our Australian bank or from an Australian bank to our international bank) incur a nominal A$20 service fee per transaction. All credit card payments incur merchant fees. For Visa and MasterCard it’s 1.5% and for American Express it’s 1.98%.

  1. Start your journey by making a new enquiry or speak to a Travel Expert 
  2. From there, you can make a new booking or discuss your travel requirements in more detail. Our Travel Experts will happily provide more information or put together a custom-made package, just for you
  3. After confirming your booking, you will receive a deposit invoice and booking confirmation with more information about your trip
  4. If the event is still a while away, you will receive email updates from our team with more information and event announcements as the information comes to hand
  5. Approximately four weeks before the event begins, we start sending out your travel documents. You will receive a travel documents email and if required, a parcel with physical items as well. The travel documents email will contain personalised travel information, itineraries, vouchers and details about your trip. Your parcel (if applicable) will contain tickets, merchandise and supporter gear. For some events, or if you live internationally and cannot receive your parcel within the available timeframe, we will make your parcel available for collection from your hotel or an official collection centre. If this is the case, you will be advised within your travel documents email, this always comes first
  6. That’s it — you’ll be ready to travel!

Events Travel’s COVID-19 Global Pandemic Statement

Dear Customers,

In these extraordinary times, we hope you are staying safe and well.

We are optimistic about travel opening up domestically in the next few months within Australia and travel to New Zealand permitted in September. After this, we expect travel to open within the Asia-Pacific region and globally by early 2021.

As such, our full range of packages, tours and services are now on sale for events taking place after 8 October 2020. In addition, events taking place in 2021 and 2022 are now on sale (such as The 150th Open Championship).

All events are pending Government travel restrictions, as well as general health and safety notices published by DFAT Smartraveller. If an event is cancelled, postponed or spectator free due to COVID-19, customers can choose to use their booking payments as credit to the rescheduled event or receive a full refund less a booking fee. This booking fee varies by event. Full details are available within our Booking Terms and Conditions.
