Overview

The ATP Cup is the newest and most exciting tennis tournament to hit the ATP Tour circuit!

The ATP Cup debuted in January 2020 with 24 countries competing for a share of a huge AU$22 million in prize money. The exciting team format captivated fans across the world, with rounds played at three host cities in the first year: Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.

The ATP Cup replaced Brisbane International, Sydney International and the Hopman Cup, the previously held individual events which often conflicted, vying for top players. The first edition of the ATP Cup proved to be widely successful. The unique format starts with six groups of four countries who compete in Group Stages in a round-robin format. Each country competes in a tie, which consists of two singles matches and one doubles match. The six winners of the pools and the two best second-place getters move to the Final Eight. This exciting format ensures you see the world’s top players competing for their country, with the final played in Sydney.

The first ATP Cup was won by Serbia, with Novak Djokovic defeating Rafael Nadal in the final singles match. The deciding doubles match was won by Serbia with Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki beating Spain’s Feliciano Lopez and Pablo Carreno Busta. This win meant Serbia took home the inaugural ATP Cup title and cemented the ATP Cup on the ATP Tour.

With COVID-19 limited international travel in 2021, now is a perfect time to stay local and travel domestically or from New Zealand to watch the ATP Cup 2021 in Brisbane, Perth or Sydney.

Our ATP Cup 2021 Packages are not yet available, but we’re working on it. Packages will include official ATP Cup 2021 tickets (general admission, reserved seating, grandstand, hospitality and other options), accommodation, unique experiences, transport, sightseeing and more.

To be the first to hear about the package release, we recommend signing up now for Priority Access. This will ensure you receive an email alert when packages go on sale plus access to early-bird offers and a pre-sale window—so you can book your trip before anyone else.

We look forward to welcoming you to the second edition of the ATP Cup in 2021.

The ATP Cup is played over three host cities with Perth, Brisbane and Sydney hosting simultaneous Group Stages with the Final Eight knockout stage to be held in Sydney over the final four days of the tournament.

Perth, the Western Australian capital, is the most isolated city of its size in the world and is known for its breathtaking beaches, blue skies and its easy-going attitude.

Brisbane is the river city with a flourishing restaurant, bar and cultural scene with incredible wild-life, sub-tropical beaches and national parks within a short day trip from the city.

Sydney is Australia’s iconic city with world-renowned landmarks, beaches and an anything-goes attitude. It’s a fast-paced city that will keep you entertained

Climate

The ATP Cup is held in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney during January, the middle of summer in Australia. Perth is hot in January with average highs of 30°C and lows of 19°C, while Brisbane is 29°C/22°C and Sydney 26°C/19°C. Expect warm conditions during the tournament in all host cities, particularly in the late afternoon. Ken Rosewall Arena, hosting the Final Eight knockout stage, has a newly built (2019) canopy roof which protects the stands from the harsh afternoon sun

Events Travel’s COVID-19 Global Pandemic Statement

Dear Customers,

In these extraordinary times, we hope you are staying safe and well.

We are optimistic about travel opening up domestically in the next few months within Australia and travel to New Zealand permitted in September. After this, we expect travel to open within the Asia-Pacific region and globally by early 2021.

As such, our full range of packages, tours and services are now on sale for events taking place after 8 October 2020. In addition, events taking place in 2021 and 2022 are now on sale (such as The 150th Open Championship).

All events are pending Government travel restrictions, as well as general health and safety notices published by DFAT Smartraveller. If an event is cancelled, postponed or spectator free due to COVID-19, customers can choose to use their booking payments as credit to the rescheduled event or receive a full refund less a booking fee. This booking fee varies by event. Full details are available within our Booking Terms and Conditions.

We hope that this new policy provides you with reassurance and confidence when booking your sports travel experience with Events Travel.

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact any of our team, who look forward to speaking with you soon.

Stay safe and well,

Glenn Hedley
