The Ashes is, in my view, the ultimate rivalry in world sport. More than 140 years of history, five Tests across an English summer, and a contest that carries weight unlike anything else in the game. Following Australia or England through the United Kingdom for an Ashes series is a different kind of trip — five host cities, five historic grounds, weeks of cricket, drama, twists and turns, and the kind of camaraderie with fellow travellers that you carry with you for the rest of your life. After more than 30 years sending Australians to the biggest events in sport, the Ashes is the one we’re proudest of.
What makes Ashes 2027 work is the combination. Five Tests at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Trent Bridge, the Ageas Bowl and The Oval — each ground with its own character, each city worth a stay in its own right. Birmingham’s industrial revival around Edgbaston, the heritage of St John’s Wood and central London around Lord’s, the cricket-mad city of Nottingham around Trent Bridge, Hampshire’s south-coast countryside at the Ageas Bowl, and the village atmosphere of Kennington around The Oval to close the series. Add in The Open Championship, Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, the Tour de France or Goodwood on the same itinerary — we can offer all of these events in-house as an official partner or trusted provider — and you’ll have the opportunity of a once-in-a-lifetime sports travel experience, all arranged in-house.
Events Travel is the most experienced Ashes travel operator in Australia, helping fans experience the Ashes since 1997, with previous official partnerships with Cricket Australia and Licensed Travel Operator status with CATO across three decades and every Ashes series in between. From single-Test getaways to full series tours following the team across England, we’ve built our reputation on getting the details right — the right accommodation, the right seats, the right rhythm between matches and rest days.
Whether you’re booking an Ashes 2027 package or one of our Ashes 2027 tours, I can’t wait to welcome you to England for the Ashes 2027.

The Ashes 2027 is contested across five Test venues in England between June and August 2027. The full match schedule, including dates and the order of Tests, has not yet been confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Confirmed venues for the 2027 series are listed below.
Edgbaston, Birmingham
Home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club and a traditional opener of an English Ashes series. Capacity around 25,000, with one of the most atmospheric crowds in world cricket and a redeveloped pavilion overlooking the playing surface.
Lord’s, London
The home of cricket and the most historic ground on the world Test calendar, located in St John’s Wood in north-west London. Capacity around 31,000. The ground combines the heritage of the Pavilion and Long Room with the modern Compton and Edrich stands.
Trent Bridge, Nottingham
Home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and one of the great traditional Ashes grounds, set on the south bank of the River Trent in West Bridgford. Capacity around 17,500.
The Ageas Bowl, Southampton
Home of Hampshire County Cricket Club and host of its first ever men’s Ashes Test in 2027. Capacity around 25,000, set in the Hampshire countryside on England’s south coast.
The Oval, London

Each Ashes 2027 host venue is well served by public transport, walking routes and taxi or rideshare options from the surrounding hotel districts. In London, Lord’s is reached via St John’s Wood station on the Jubilee line, and The Oval sits directly above Oval station on the Northern line, making both grounds easily accessible from accommodation across central and inner London. Edgbaston in Birmingham is a short bus, taxi or rideshare ride from the city centre and the New Street and Moor Street station precincts. Trent Bridge in Nottingham is a 25-minute walk or short tram ride from the city centre. The Ageas Bowl in Southampton is reached by dedicated match-day shuttle from Southampton Parkway station. Specific transport guidance, walking routes and group coach options will be confirmed in your Ashes 2027 travel documents once accommodation is selected.
England in summer is the perfect backdrop for an Ashes series. Four host cities across the country bring their own character to the 2027 series — London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Southampton — each within easy reach of the others by direct rail and each worth a stay in its own right. Between Tests, the United Kingdom opens up to long days, beer gardens, country drives, river walks and the rolling green of an English summer. Extensions to Scotland, Ireland, Wales and the Cotswolds are popular ways to fill the rest days between matches, and many travellers combine the Ashes 2027 with The Open Championship 2027, Wimbledon 2027, the Formula 1 British Grand Prix 2027 or Royal Ascot 2027 on the same itinerary.
Birmingham — Edgbaston
Birmingham hosts a Test of the Ashes 2027 series at Edgbaston, two miles south of the city centre and home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Once the industrial heart of England, Birmingham has been transformed by canal-side dining around Brindleyplace, the redeveloped Bullring shopping district, the Jewellery Quarter, and a Michelin-listed restaurant scene that punches above its weight. New Street and Moor Street stations connect Birmingham to London Euston and London Marylebone in around 90 minutes by direct train, making a multi-Test itinerary straightforward. The city is also a strong base for travellers extending into the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon and the wider Midlands.
London — Lord’s and The Oval
London hosts two Ashes 2027 Tests — Lord’s in St John’s Wood in north-west London and The Oval in Kennington in south London. Both grounds sit minutes from the Underground network, with Lord’s reached via St John’s Wood station on the Jubilee line and The Oval sitting directly above Oval station on the Northern line. Between match days, the city offers Royal Parks, the West End, Borough Market, the South Bank, Soho and centuries-old pubs, with Westminster, Camden and Notting Hill all reached in 20 to 30 minutes by Tube. London is the natural anchor of an Ashes 2027 trip, and a strong base for travellers wanting to combine the series with Wimbledon 2027 or Royal Ascot 2027.
Nottingham — Trent Bridge
Nottingham hosts a Test of the Ashes 2027 series at Trent Bridge, set on the south bank of the River Trent in the suburb of West Bridgford. The city itself is steeped in cricket heritage and Robin Hood folklore, with a compact, walkable centre, the gothic Nottingham Castle, the Lace Market quarter, riverside pubs and a thriving food scene that comes into its own on match days. Trent Bridge is a 25-minute walk or short tram ride from the city centre. Direct trains from London St Pancras reach Nottingham in under two hours, and the Peak District National Park sits within an hour of the city for travellers wanting a country drive between matches.
Southampton — The Ageas Bowl
Southampton hosts a Test of the Ashes 2027 series at The Ageas Bowl, the first ever men’s Ashes Test at the venue and a long-awaited milestone for Hampshire Cricket. The city is England’s gateway to the south coast, with a deep maritime history (the Mayflower and the Titanic both sailed from here), the New Forest National Park on its doorstep, and the Isle of Wight a short ferry across the Solent. The Ageas Bowl sits in the Hampshire countryside, reached by dedicated match-day shuttle from Southampton Parkway station. London Waterloo to Southampton Central is just over an hour by direct train, making the Hampshire Test an easy add-on to a London-based itinerary.
England’s summer between June and August averages 18–23°C (64–73°F) during the day and 11–14°C (52–57°F) overnight, with long daylight hours, moderate humidity and the chance of passing showers across most match days. Pack layers, a light waterproof and comfortable footwear for full days at the cricket. All five Ashes 2027 venues are open-air grounds without permanent roofs, with covers deployed during rain delays and weather decisions managed by the on-field umpires. Rain delays and extended sessions in good light are part of the rhythm of an English summer Test, and England’s mild summer climate is part of the rhythm of an Ashes 2027 experience.
