The city is renowned for creative arts, world-class dining, amazing galleries, and shops; it is also home to many of Australia’s best-known landmarks including Melbourne Cricket Ground, NGV and Royal Exhibition Building. Melbourne’s growth in the 1800s was largely thanks to the discovery of gold in Victoria in mid-1851 with people flocking to the city in the hope of finding wealth.

November means springtime in Melbourne, which is a wonderful time to visit. The average high sits around 23C with lows around 12C. The days are getting longer with heightened UV Indexes, so remember to wear sunscreen. We suggest checking the forecast in advance and preparing for mixed weather. Many past Melbourne Cup Carnivals have seen beautiful blue skies, as well as cold weather and clouds. ‘That’s all part of the fun’ as we Melburnians like to say.
