2024 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final

Super Netball is the top competition in the country and home to many of the world’s best players and coaches.

And the Grand Final is the best of the best. Super Netball’s season is dynamic and intense. Eight teams from across the country go head-to-head over four months with the Premiership any team’s game. The season culminates with the Super Netball Grand Final. It promises to be a thrilling spectacle, offering entertainment for the entire family.

Adelaide is the perfect host city for major events. The city is compact, historic, beautiful and accessible. If you choose the three or four night package you’ll have access to the exciting Captain’s Run on Friday afternoon, giving you a glimpse behind the scenes into how the best coaches, teams and players prepare for a Grand Final. For those looking to see more, consider adding the Barossa Valley Winery Tour on Thursday, exclusive to Events Travel. Start with a stop at the gorgeous German village of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills before heading to the beautiful Barossa Valley for a premium tour and wine tasting at the famous Yalumba — Australia’s most historic family-owned winery. Following that enjoy a two course lunch at Harvest Kitchen at Jacob’s Creek. After lunch we head to Maggie Beer’s famous Farm Shop for a stop before finishing back in Adelaide in the late afternoon. The tour will be a highlight, taking in the sights, tastes and scenery of the world-renowned Barossa Valley.

The Grand Final Lunch commenced at 2:00 pm in 2023. The dress code is smart casual with collared shirts, no denim, no activewear.

Getting to Adelaide Entertainment Centre from your hotel

Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC) is conveniently located on the edge of Adelaide’s CBD, making it easily accessible by car, public transport and foot.

Walking

If it’s a nice day, you may enjoy an afternoon stroll from your hotel along River Torrens through the Adelaide Parklands to AEC and take public transport back. Walking time will depend on your hotel and will generally take at least 30-40 minutes from hotels located in the north of Adelaide’s CBD. If your hotel is located in the centre or south of Adelaide’s CBD, it will take over an hour to walk to AEC so you may prefer to take public transport or car.

Public transport

A free tram service operates daily between Adelaide’s CBD and AEC with a good level of frequency. The tram station is located immediately in front of the AEC on Port Road.

There’s also a train and buses, however most guests will find the tram the preferred mode of transport. If you need more information please see here.

Driving/Rideshare

You can drive to AEC, it will take 10-15 minutes from most hotels and there are ample car parks onsite, including accessible parking spaces. Enter via Mary Street, Manton Street or Adam Street. An event parking fee applies payable via EFTPOS upon arrival at the car park entry. Event parking rates are advertised as a flat $15. Rideshare services will also be available.

Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, is a charming blend of colonial elegance and modern flair. At the city’s heart, the meticulously planned streets and squares are lined with historic buildings, trendy cafes, and boutique shops. Victoria Square, the focal point for public events, leads you to the Central Market—a haven for food lovers offering fresh produce and gourmet delights. As a festival city, Adelaide bursts with arts and music. Be sure to visit the Art Gallery of South Australia and the South Australian Museum to see a range of Australian and international exhibitions.

For wine enthusiasts, a trip to Adelaide wouldn’t be complete without visiting the nearby wine regions such as the famous Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, and McLaren Vale, all within easy driving distance and offering wine tastings, gourmet food, and scenic vineyard vistas. For those joining us on the Relax Package, we offer an optional Barossa Valley Winery Tour to the famous region on Thursday, which will be a highlight experience available to limited numbers.

Back in the city, indulge in Australia’s freshest produce at award-winning restaurants or unwind in the chic bars and pubs along the laneways. For those interested in nature and wildlife, consider a day trip to Kangaroo Island to see native wildlife in its natural habitat, or relax on the beautiful beaches of Glenelg, just a tram ride from the city centre.

Adelaide is an events hub with plenty of sports, festivals and cultural activities to enjoy over the Super Netball Grand Final weekend including Adelaide vs St Kilda on Friday night, Adelaide Guitar Festival, SALA Festival and more.

Climate

August in Adelaide is the final month of winter. Expect some rain during the weekend, however it’s not typically as wet as June or July, and spring is on the horizon. Expect daily lows of 8ºC and highs of 16ºC. We recommend packing with plenty of warm layers if you’re enjoying outdoor activities.

Express, Long Weekend and Relax Packages

A deposit of 40% is due to confirm your booking, plus any ticket upgrades and extras*.

The balance of 60% is due by 3 June 2024**.

*If your booking includes extra travel services, different payment terms may apply to be confirmed on quoting (e.g. flight tickets require full payment to confirm while car rental can be paid on pick-up).
** Bookings made after the balance due date will require full payment to confirm, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Invoices can be paid in AUD, USD, GBP, EUR or NZD. If you elect to pay your invoice in a different currency to the event default currency, your invoice will be converted at the best available daily mid-market rate.

Payments using Visa or Mastercard incur a 1.7% merchant fee. Payments using American Express incur a 1.98% merchant fee.
