Regarded as one of Queensland’s premier sporting events, the Gold Coast 500 transforms the iconic streets and shores of Surfers Paradise each October into a thrilling high-speed race circuit.

This unique event blends the adrenaline of Supercars racing with laid-back coastal lifestyle, offering non-stop action on and off the track. Drawing over 200,000 spectators annually, it’s one of the most popular stops on the Supercars calendar, known for its tight corners, fast straights, and stunning oceanfront backdrop.

Drivers take on one of the most demanding circuits in Supercars, navigating a maze of sharp turns, undulating surfaces, and scenic chicanes, all set against the towering skyline of the Gold Coast. As the sun sets, the excitement shifts from track to stage, with electrifying post-race concerts featuring world-class Australian and international acts—previous years have seen performances from Hilltop Hoods, Cold Chisel, and other major artists.

Surfers Paradise Street Circuit

First appearing on the Australian motorsport calendar in 1991, the street circuit located on the Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise is a high speed, concrete-lined, thrill ride that was shortened for the new look event in 2010.

The temporary street circuit has created carnage in the past, particularly when drivers don’t show the patience that is required to come out unscathed. Both races are 250km on a circuit that’s 2.96km in length. Drivers complete 85 laps per race. The short track allows for better spectating, providing fans with great entertainment value.

October on the Gold Coast, Australia, brings mild to warm temperatures ranging from 19°C to 26°C with plenty of sunshine and moderate humidity. It’s an ideal time for outdoor activities and beach visits, although occasional scattered showers may occur. Evenings can be slightly cooler, so packing light layers is recommended. Overall, October offers pleasant weather for enjoying the Gold Coast’s attractions and natural beauty.

• The Gold Coast 500 takes place on the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit with temporary safety barriers. Due to this we recommend upgrading to a Fanstand ticket, grandstand ticket or hospitality package to ensure you get the best track views over the barriers.
• If you’re planning a special occasion or treating colleagues, you can’t go past a hospitality suite. These give you access to an exclusive venue with gourmet food, premium drinks, entertainment, programs, TVs, indoor and outdoor seating and more. Inclusions vary per suite and package.
• If you’re after an extra special weekend, try our track view rooms at the JW Marriott resort. While not the best place to watch the race from, being close to the track and seeing cars from above gives a unique perspective and will ensure you feel part of the action.
• All packages include a Pit Lane Walk at a scheduled time over the weekend to see the inner workings of the pits, team garages and more. This is a great extra to enhance your race experience.

How to get to the Gold Coast?

Drive: Bring your own car and drive to the Gold Coast. Parking can be added at each hotel or at secure car parks nearby. Park your car for the duration of your stay and get around the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise on foot, which is easily done from our centrally located hotels.

Fly: Fly to Brisbane (BNE) or Gold Coast Airport Coolangatta (OOL). From the airport we can arrange private transfers, group transfers, car rental or you can take the train from BNE or a taxi/uber from OOL. We can also book and ticket your flights in-house on request.

The default currency for this event is AUD ($). Invoices can be paid in AUD, USD, GBP, EUR or NZD.

Payment requirements for custom packages will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, to be determined by services, suppliers and timeline.

*If your booking includes extra travel services, different payment terms may apply to be confirmed on quoting (e.g. flight tickets require full payment to confirm while car rental can be paid on pick-up).

Invoices can be paid in AUD, USD, GBP, EUR or NZD. If you elect to pay your invoice in a different currency to the event default currency, your invoice will be converted at the best available daily mid-market rate.

Payments via direct transfer (EFT) incur no additional fees (including no SWIFT fees or additional bank fees).

Payments using Visa or Mastercard incur a 1.7% merchant fee. Payments using American Express incur a 1.98% merchant fee.

If paying an invoice in USD, GBP, EUR or NZD

Payments via direct transfer (EFT) incur no additional fees (including no SWIFT fees or additional bank fees).
