It took 68 years for The Open to return to Northern Ireland and it was well worth the wait. The 148th Open was one for the ages and if that’s a reliable benchmark, The 153rd Open will also be huge. Situated on the County Antrim coast in Northern Ireland, Royal Portrush was founded in 1888 and will host its third Open Championship in over 150 years, making 2025 a very special occasion. The private golf club is home to two links courses, the Dunluce Links (The Open rota) and the Valley Links. The club occupies a triangle of giant sand hills with sweeping views of neighbouring islands and beautiful coastal landmarks. Belfast is the nearest major city, around 90 minutes away by car and will be our home base for most of our accommodation options, with plenty to see and do there. Neighbouring towns and seaside villages will also host some of our guests, which offer quiet accommodations, best for self driving.
