A Grounds Pass is a general admission ticket, which gives you access to Melbourne Park for the entire day, including all outer arenas, warm-up courts, stages, brand activations, shops and more. If you want to watch the action on Rod Laver Arena or Margaret Court Arena, you will need a reserved ticket for either arena. Reserved tickets give you full access to Melbourne Park in addition to a reserved seat in your chosen arena on a per session basis. If you have a reserved ticket, you do not also need a Grounds Pass. Reserved tickets cover individual sessions, so after the day session finishes, you will need to leave the arena, but you can stay within Melbourne Park. If you have a night session, you cannot enter Melbourne Park or the arena until the night session begins in the late afternoon.

Melbourne is a dynamic cosmopolitan city both stylish and forward-thinking, yet laid back and care free. The city is renowned for creative arts, world-class dining, amazing galleries, cafes, shops and spectacular sports and events. In the CBD, you will find hidden laneways brimming with street art, while just north you’ll find bohemian shopping strips and some of the best Italian food outside of Italy. Just outside the CBD, a short stroll or free tram ride away, is the world-famous MCG and Melbourne Park, host of the Australian Open. Intrepid travellers will adore this city for the endless opportunities that await; just one or two hours away lie wineries, National Parks, alpine towns and coastal roads. Melbourne has something for everyone and is the perfect host for your dream Grand Slam experience.
January is summer in Melbourne. Average highs are 26ºC and lows are 19ºC. Rainfall is limited and you can expect hot sunny days. We recommend choosing shaded seats for day sessions and Lower Bowl seats for night sessions. On exceptionally hot days, Rod Laver Arena’s roof will be closed and the arena will be air-conditioned, so there’s nothing to be concerned about; it’s all part of the summer tennis experience!
