Here’s how your stay could look:
Afternoon — arrive and check in
Train or drive to Melbourne and park for the night in the city at Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne or overlooking the MCG at Pullman Melbourne on the Park. Check in around 3:00pm, freshen up and get ready for a big night out.
From 4:30pm* — make your way to John Cain Arena
Make your way to John Cain Arena on foot or via the free Route 70 tram from the CBD. Feeling adventurous? Take a scenic water transfer from Southbank. Arrive early to soak up the fan zone, food trucks, activations and entertainment before the on-court action begins.
From 7:00pm* — pre-game entertainment and showtime
Pre-game entertainment gets underway from around 7:00pm*, with the Grand Final starting around 7:30pm*. Then it is all eyes on the court for the biggest match of the Super Netball season.
9:00pm* — the city is yours
After the final whistle and celebrations, stroll back to your hotel or extend the night at one of Melbourne’s rooftop bars, live music venues or bustling dining spots — celebrating, commiserating or simply still buzzing from the biggest night in netball.
Morning — a leisurely start before heading home
Wake up refreshed, enjoy a leisurely hotel breakfast, take a morning walk along the Yarra River, stop into Lune or Hector’s Deli for a sweet treat, or simply relax and lie-in before check-out. A huge night and a proper occasion, all wrapped up in 24 hours.

4-star
Built in 1913, Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne is one of Australia's finest heritage-listed hotels. Its grand Edwardian Baroque façade and meticulously restored interiors — including seven-metre high ceilings and stained glass windows — offer a sense of history rarely found in the CBD. Located on Flinders Street overlooking the Yarra River and just a three-minute walk from Flinders Street Station, the hotel sits within the free tram zone with the Australian Open precinct easily reached on foot, by tram, or water taxi.
5-star
Overlooking the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground and the leafy expanse of Fitzroy Gardens, Pullman Melbourne on the Park enjoys one of the most coveted positions of any hotel in the city for Australian Open visitors. Located on Wellington Parade in picturesque East Melbourne, the hotel is just a two-minute walk from Jolimont Station and within easy reach of Rod Laver Arena and Melbourne Park — the home of the Australian Open. Trams running along Wellington Parade connect directly to the CBD's shopping and dining precincts, while the Royal Botanic Gardens and Princess Theatre are a short journey away.Get in touch to start planning your next sports travel experience.
