    Circuit: Autodromo Nazionale Monza
    Length: 5.793 km
    Turns: 11
    Laps: 53
    Race length: 306.72 km

Monza continues to challenge drivers and thrill fans with its unique combination of long straights and fast corners, making it a cornerstone of the Formula 1® calendar.

    Fast facts

    1. Historic Venue: The Italian Grand Prix is one of the oldest races in the Formula 1 World Championship, having been held since 1921. It has been a part of every F1 season since the championship’s inception in 1950, making it one of the most enduring races in the sport.
    2. Monza – The Temple of Speed: The race is held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, often referred to as the “Temple of Speed.” This nickname comes from its layout, which includes long straights and high-speed corners, making it one of the fastest circuits on the F1 calendar.
    3. Speed Records: Due to its high-speed nature, Monza is known for producing some of the highest speeds in F1. In 2004, Juan Pablo Montoya set the fastest lap in F1 history with an average speed of 262.242 km/h (162.950 mph).
    4. Iconic Corners: Monza features some famous corners and sections, including the Parabolica, the Lesmos, and the Ascari chicane. These corners are crucial for maintaining speed and are a test of driver skill and bravery.
    5. Passionate Tifosi: The Italian Grand Prix is renowned for its passionate and enthusiastic fans, known as the Tifosi. They are fervent supporters of Ferrari, and their energy and devotion create a unique and electrifying atmosphere during the race weekend.
    6. Historic Moments: Monza has been the site of many memorable moments in F1 history. One of the most famous is the 1971 race, which is still the fastest F1 race ever run, with an average speed of 242.615 km/h (150.754 mph). The race was won by Peter Gethin by just 0.01 seconds, one of the closest finishes in F1 history.
    7. Ferrari’s Home: Monza is considered Ferrari’s home race, and the team has a storied history at this circuit. Ferrari has won the Italian Grand Prix multiple times, with legends like Michael Schumacher and Alberto Ascari securing victories for the Scuderia.
    8. Podium Celebrations: The podium ceremony at Monza is unique because the podium extends out over the start-finish straight, directly above the pit lane. This allows fans to gather below and celebrate with the drivers, creating a sea of red and green flags.
    9. Evolution of the Track: The Monza circuit has undergone several changes over the years, including the removal of the banked oval section that was used in the past. Despite these changes, it has retained its character as a high-speed challenge.
    10. Memorable Wins: Many legendary drivers have triumphed at Monza, including Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, and Sebastian Vettel. Michael Schumacher holds the record for the most wins at Monza with five victories.
