FAST5 is netball like you’ve never seen before.
FAST5 is a fun variation of traditional netball, developed by the International Netball Federation to offer a faster and more spectator-friendly version of the game. It differs from standard netball by having only five players per side, shorter match durations, and innovative rules such as power plays and super shots. These super shots allow teams to earn multiple points from designated zones on the court during specific periods, adding a strategic layer to the game.
Introduced to inject more excitement and broaden netball’s appeal, FAST5 also features a lively game-day atmosphere, complete with music, fan interactions, and creates a festival-like environment, making it distinct from the more traditional formats.
New Zealand has been the dominate team winning 7 of the 11 FAST5 Netball World Series, but it’s always been close and Australia has won the last 2 editions in 2022 and 2023 on New Zealand’s home soil (including defeating New Zealand in 2023!) As always it’s any teams game, but if the Aussies can get a hat trick, it’ll be an incredible feat.
FAST5 2022, 2023 and 2024 are hosted by New Zealand, with 2024 the final edition in Christchurch. The city of Christchurch is the gateway to New Zealand’s rugged South Island, but also a short hop from the more tropical North Island. Whether you head North or South, or both, New Zealand offers a many amazing destinations to visit. You can fly between Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown or you could rent a car or campervan and drive between all three, or just from Christchurch to Queenstown after the netball and fly home from there. New Zealand offers incredible scenery and activities for adrenalin junkies, but also plenty of things to do for those who just want to take it slow. Whether you’re up for a bike ride, a hike, a mountain-side picnic, a cruise through waterfall filled fjords or ready to indulge in a world-class dining experience, you can find it all in New Zealand.
We’ve been helping fans travel to netball events around the world since the 1995 World Cup in Birmingham and recently to World Cup’s in Singapore, Sydney, Liverpool and Cape Town. Christchurch, the main city on New Zealand’s South Island, is a vibrant place where old meets new. Despite past earthquakes, it has rebuilt itself with a mix of historic buildings and modern designs, like the unique Cardboard Cathedral and the lively Riverside Market. The city is also known for its peaceful Avon River and large Botanic Gardens.
Beyond Christchurch, the South Island is full of stunning natural beauty. You’ll find impressive fjords, tall mountains, and clear lakes. Adventurers will love Queenstown for its thrilling activities, while nature lovers will be amazed by the scenic beauty of Fiordland National Park and the famous Milford Sound.
Over on the North Island, the scene changes with its mix of cultures, hot springs, and green landscapes. Auckland, the largest city, offers big-city fun with beautiful countryside close by, including the movie set of Hobbiton and the volcanic landscapes of Tongariro National Park. The city of Rotorua is a great place to experience Maori culture with traditional performances and food. A trip to Waiheke Island is recommend for wine and nature lovers, and is a short ferry ride from the city.
Both islands of New Zealand offer a great mix of urban excitement and many natural wonders.
In November, which is late spring in Christchurch, the climate is generally mild and pleasant. Temperatures typically range from about 8°C in the early mornings and nights to around 19°C during the day. It’s a great time for outdoor activities as the weather is usually stable, with increasing sunny days.
However, it’s still wise to be prepared for occasional rain showers and some chilly mornings, especially since the weather can be quite variable. Layers are recommended for this transitional season, as conditions can change throughout the day.

The default currency for this event is AUD ($).
A deposit of 25% is due to confirm your booking, plus any ticket upgrades and extras*.
The balance of 75% is due by 30 August 2024**.

FAST5 2024 will take place from 9-10 November 2024.
It will be the final edition in New Zealand before the tournament moves to a new host country for three years from 2025-2027 inclusive.
FAST5 2024 will be held at Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch on New Zealand’s South Island.
There are two ways to buy FAST5 2024 Tickets.
The first way is to buy them through the official FAST5 2024 website. However tickets may sell out quickly and you don’t get any additional benefits that come with a package.
The second way to buy tickets is with an official FAST5 2024 Package. These include official Platinum tickets to both Saturday and Sunday, plus hotel accommodation, daily breakfast, access to the Silver Ferns Friday Evening Function and other optional extras. Plus you’ll get to travel and sit with likeminded fans.
FAST5 2024 Tickets will go on sale to the General Public towards the end of May 2024. Official FAST5 2024 Packages including tickets are on sale 14 May 2024.
For FAST5 2024 we have one package available which includes three nights accommodation, official 2-Day Platinum Tickets, the Silver Ferns Travel Friday Evening Function and daily breakfast. The package has different hotel options and is customisable with extra travel services.
We also have an Auckland Escape and a Queenstown Extension available so you can extend your stay and experience more of New Zealand.
