Wimbledon 2026 fun facts

1. Strawberries & cream at Wimbledon: Around 166,000 portions are served each year, with 10 litres of cream and 28,000 kilograms of strawberries.
2. Longest match in Wimbledon history: In 2010, John Isner defeated Nicolas Mahut in an 11-hour, 5-minute marathon spread over three days, ending 70–68 in the fifth set.
3. Rufus the Wimbledon hawk: A Harris hawk named Rufus patrols the skies above the grounds to keep pigeons away, complete with his own security pass.
4. Wimbledon ball boys & girls (BBGs): About 250 are selected each year from over 1,000 applicants and undergo rigorous training to perform with precision.
5. Wimbledon grass courts: The grass is cut to exactly 8mm during the Championships, making footing notoriously tricky for players.
6. No advertising at Wimbledon: The courts are famously free from advertising boards, with Rolex as the sole visible sponsor.
7. Oldest Wimbledon champions: Arthur Gore won the men’s singles in 1909 at age 41; Charlotte Cooper Sterry won the women’s singles in 1908 at age 37.
8. Champagne & picnics at Wimbledon: Spectators consume over 29,000 bottles of champagne each year, often enjoyed with picnics on Henman Hill (Murray Mound).
9. Wimbledon Centre Court roof: First used in 2009, it takes 10 minutes to close, ensuring play continues during rain.
10. Wimbledon all-white rule: Players must wear almost entirely white clothing. In 2013, Roger Federer was asked to change shoes with orange soles.

Payment requirements:

• A deposit of 25% is due to confirm your booking, plus any ticket upgrades and extras*.
• A stage payment of 25% is due by 31 December 2025.
• The balance of 50% is due by 20 April 2026^.

*If your booking includes extra services, alternative payment terms may apply. Specific details will be outlined during the quoting process. For example, independent flights typically require immediate full payment to confirm, while car rentals generally require payment upon vehicle pickup.
^ Bookings made after the balance due date require full payment upfront, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

How to make payment

Your invoice will include instructions for payment via direct bank transfer (EFT) or secure online credit/debit card payment. Each invoice contains a “Pay Now” link directing you to a secure payment portal for quick and easy card payments.

How to pay in other currencies and fees

Invoices can be issued and paid in AUD, USD, GBP, EUR, or NZD. If you would like to pay in a different currency to the default currency for this event, please contact our team to request an updated invoice. The total will be converted at the best available mid-market exchange rate, with updated payment instructions provided.
