The 2026 NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final is the biggest day in rugby league, and after more than three decades sending fans to the game’s defining moments, I still think there’s nothing else quite like it. One match, one afternoon, a whole season on the line — and a city that turns out for it. The NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final 2026 is the day our travellers circle on the calendar, and the one they tell me about for years afterwards.
What makes it work is the combination: the best two teams in the competition at Accor Stadium, a full day of football that builds through the State Championship and the NRLW Grand Final before the main game kicks off under lights, and Sydney in spring as the backdrop. The atmosphere inside an 80,000-strong Accor Stadium is something every rugby league fan should experience once. Getting the most out of it takes the right NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final 2026 travel package — accommodation close to the harbour and the city, the right seats or the pre-game cruise across to Sydney Olympic Park, and a team on the ground who knows both the event and the city. That’s the standard we set.
Events Travel has been an Official Travel Agent for the NRL since 2012, and we’ve been creating rugby league travel experiences around the world since 1995 — from the Rugby League World Cup and Rugby League Las Vegas to NRL Magic Round, the State of Origin series and the Grand Final itself. Whether you’re booking NRL Grand Final tickets, an Elite Experience or a fully curated NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final 2026 package, we’ve built our reputation on getting the details right, year after year, for travellers joining us for the first time and for those who come back every season.
Now it’s your turn. I can’t wait to welcome you to Sydney for the NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final 2026.

The full 2026 NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final schedule, including individual kick-off times, will be confirmed by the NRL closer to the event. The 2026 NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final day runs across a single afternoon and evening at Accor Stadium on Sunday 4 October 2026, building through three matches — the State Championship, the NRLW Grand Final and the NRL Grand Final that decides the Telstra Premiership. The following running order is based on the 2025 event and offers a guide to the structure of the day. It will be updated once the 2026 schedule is confirmed.
1:00pm — Gates open at Accor Stadium
1:20pm — State Championship kick-off
3:20pm — NRLW Grand Final pre-game show
4:00pm — NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final kick-off
6:30pm — Pre-game entertainment
7:30pm — NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final kick-off
Grand Final Fan Fest is the free fan festival held in the days before the 2026 NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final. In 2025 it ran at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay across the Thursday and Friday before the match, open to all ages with team appearances, player signings, trophy photo opportunities, live entertainment and interactive activations along Sydney Harbour. The 2026 Fan Fest dates, venue and programme will be confirmed by the NRL closer to the event. Most Events Travel packages include nights in Sydney across Grand Final weekend, placing guests in the city for Fan Fest and the wider build-up to the match.
Cruise and coach transfers (recommended)
The pre-game cruise is the recommended way to arrive for the 2026 NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final. Selected NRL Grand Final packages include a cruise from Darling Harbour to Sydney Olympic Park with two hours of food, drinks and live entertainment on the water, a coach transfer to Accor Stadium, and a return coach to the Sydney CBD after the match. It turns the journey into part of the day and removes the post-match crowd from the equation. Complete transfer details are provided within your travel documents.
Train
Train is the recommended public transport option for reaching Accor Stadium. Olympic Park is the closest station, a short 10-minute walk from the stadium via Olympic Boulevard. Express services run to Olympic Park on event days, and regular services connect through Lidcombe to the wider Sydney Trains network from the CBD, Strathfield and beyond. Travel on Sydney public transport is included with a valid match ticket on Grand Final day.
Driving, rideshare and taxi
Parking across Sydney Olympic Park is limited and sells out for major events, so pre-booking is essential if driving, and park-and-ride from nearby stations is often smoother. Uber, DiDi and taxis service the precinct with designated pick-up and drop-off zones near the stadium. Expect congestion and longer waits immediately after the NRL Grand Final, when the full crowd departs at once.
Sydney is the perfect backdrop for the 2026 NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final. Set on one of the world’s great harbours and ringed by beaches and bushland, Australia’s largest city pairs natural beauty with world-class dining, culture and a rich sporting tradition, making it one of the most rewarding cities to visit. From the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge to the colonial laneways of The Rocks and the waterside restaurants of Barangaroo, the city rewards exploration at every turn, with the on-trend eateries of Surry Hills, the street food of Chinatown and First Nations art at the Museum of Contemporary Art all within easy reach.
Accor Stadium sits at Sydney Olympic Park, a short train ride from the CBD and connected easily to hotels across the harbour and the city. Between the football and the wider Grand Final weekend, guests move seamlessly from the match to a ferry across to Manly, the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee, the Royal Botanic Garden and the bars and restaurants of Circular Quay and Surry Hills. The Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley wine country are both within a day’s reach for those extending their stay. October is Sydney at its most inviting — long spring days, warm afternoons and a city fully alive with the energy of Grand Final weekend.
Early October is mid-spring in Sydney, one of the best times of year to visit. Average daytime temperatures sit around 22°C (72°F), easing to approximately 14°C (57°F) in the evening, with generally settled, sunny conditions and the occasional spring shower. Light layers are recommended for sightseeing and for the evening kick-off. Accor Stadium is an open-air venue, so a light jacket is worth packing for the night game, keeping you comfortable across your 2026 NRL & NRLW Telstra Premiership Grand Final experience.
Every journey is different. With more than 30 years of experience, our team can tailor your trip with flexible services and extras, designing the perfect itinerary and sourcing the best available rates and options using our experience and networks, tailored to your preferences and trip. Many guests choose to extend their trip beyond the event itself, combining their experience with a broader holiday — whether it’s a few extra days, a few weeks or a stopover.
