Climate — Australian Open

January is mid-summer in Melbourne, with average daytime temperatures around 26°C (79°F) and evenings cooling to approximately 19°C (66°F). Rainfall is generally low and sunshine abundant, creating ideal conditions for outdoor exploration and tennis viewing. On particularly warm days, the retractable roofs at Rod Laver Arena and Margaret Court Arena may be closed, providing air-conditioned comfort and ensuring play continues uninterrupted.

• First Week Packages: If you want to see your favourite players up close, we recommend a first week package. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the best of Melbourne Park, where both seeded and non-seeded players can be seen on the outer courts and warm-up courts, accessible with a Grounds Pass or reserved tickets for Rod Laver Arena (RLA) or Margaret Court Arena (MCA).
• Second Week Packages: The second week is where the biggest matches take place, and a Rod Laver Arena ticket is a must to catch all the action from singles and doubles finals.
• Day vs. Night Sessions:
  • Day Session tickets (RLA or MCA): Once the session concludes, you can stay in Melbourne Park to enjoy the evening festivities and matches on the outer courts.
  • Night Session tickets: Entry begins after approximately 5:00 pm. If you want to explore Melbourne Park earlier in the day, consider adding a Grounds Pass to your package.
• Ticket Access:
  • Grounds Passes: Access to Melbourne Park, including outer courts and warm-up courts.
  • Reserved Tickets (RLA or MCA): Access to Melbourne Park and a reserved seat in the arena for your chosen session. Most fans opt for Rod Laver Arena tickets, where the biggest matches are held, particularly during second week. During the first week both RLA and MCA have seeded matches and you can create a custom package with our team to enjoy both arenas.
• AO Reserve Hospitality: For an elevated experience or to entertain guests, explore AO Premium Experiences, now called AO Reserve. These hospitality packages include Lower Bowl tickets for Rod Laver Arena, gourmet dining, exclusive venues, and more.
• AO Child Ticket Policy:
  • Ages 0–2: Free entry to Melbourne Park and to main arenas on carers lap with a reserved ticket (no prams or strollers in main arenas).
  • Ages 2–11: Discounted Grounds Passes available on request. Reserved seats at adult prices.
  • Ages 12+: Considered adults for all ticket types.
  • There are plenty of family-friendly activities, including a daycare and movie theatre, ensuring children of all ages are entertained.

• A deposit of 50% is due to confirm your booking, plus any ticket upgrades and extras*.
• The balance of 50% is due by 20 September 2026^.

*If your booking includes extra services, alternative payment terms may apply. Specific details will be outlined during the quoting process. For example, independent flights typically require immediate full payment to confirm, while car rentals generally require payment upon vehicle pickup.
^ Bookings made after the balance due date require full payment upfront, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

How to make payment

Your invoice will include instructions for payment via direct bank transfer (EFT) or secure online credit/debit card payment. Each invoice contains a “Pay Now” link directing you to a secure payment portal for quick and easy card payments.

Invoices can be issued and paid in AUD, USD, GBP, EUR, or NZD. If you would like to pay in a different currency to the default currency for this event, please contact our team to request an updated invoice. The total will be converted at the best available mid-market exchange rate, with updated payment instructions provided.
